Happy Birthday Clay

Clay’s surprise birthday party was fun last night.  He seemed very surprised and happy to have so many people there.  Of course he was noticeably nervous and didn’t know what to do but that’s Clay.  After the party his band “The Impregnators” had an impromptu gig at White Chocolate.  Here is as much of it as I could get before my memory card filled up.

Are you being all you can be?

It’s always good to hear about others who have it much tougher than the rest of us.  Watch this video and ask yourself, are you taking advantage of your situation?

Thanks to John P. at One Man’s Blog for letting me know about this.

Gamer was surprisingly good

gamer

I was very surprised with how good Gamer was.  It looked like a pretty stupid movie from the previews but the story was much better than expected.  It’s basically like a real world Sims video game.  People who are down on their luck volunteer to be real life avatars for others.  They are injected with a nano particle that allows their avatar owner to control them.  The avatars work in a world called Society and it is an odd place.  You have to see it to get how creative the human mind can be… could be fun, could be really bad.  The Gamer portion comes in when they turn the technology into another game where convicts can fight for their freedom in a game called Slayers.  Gerard Butler is the best fighter and is the main character.  I don’t want to give away too much of the story so you need to watch it sometime when you don’t have a better option.

The Hurt Locker is Depressing but Good

hurlocker

This was a good reminder of what a mistake our presence in the middle east is.  I truly appreciate our men and women in uniform but they are over there for the wrong reasons.  That is what makes this movie so depressing.  These guys have to try and disarm massive bombs while the guys who built them watch and try to kill them… for what?  Well enough of the political rant.  This is a good movie and for a couple of hours you might be able to relate with what they go through, albeit just a tiny bit.  Again, thank you to everyone who serves in our military.

Bellagio Fountains

Here is some video Mandee took with our new tiny Canon PowerShot SD780 IS.  Not too bad considering it is a still camera that can take video.  It's a little jerky but that's just cause Mandee gets so excited for the fountains.
